Fong's Pizza

Fong's Pizza is a unique chinese pizza place in Des Moines. Since it opened its doors in 2009 its impressed many customers, including me. My party and I arrived at about a quarter to six and it was already packed. While waiting to be seated we ordered some egg rolls, rangoons, and chinese cheese sticks (melted mozzarella inside a fried egg roll). The egg rolls and rangoons were the best we'd ever tasted. They were warm and the filling tasted very good. The cheese sticks were also very tasty. After about a forty minute wait we squeezed tightly into a booth. We quickly looked over the menu and decided on the thai chicken ( peanut sauce, chicken, vegetables, mozzarella, asiago, and cilantro), rangoon ( crab rangoon base, surimi, green onion, crispy egg roll strips, sweet chili sauce, asiago, and mozzarella) the big delicious ( house and alredo sauce, Graziano sausage, bacon, chicken, onion, banana pepper, and mozzarella), and the polynesian ( a blend of sweet and spicy and house sauce, canadian bacon, bacon, pineapple, and mozzarella). Our table was very crowded so when the pizza arrived we all took a slice and waited for the next pizza. The first pizzas to arrive were the rangoon and big delicious. My first bite of the rangoon was amazing! It was the most unique and delicious pizza I'd ever tasted. It was quickly eaten up and I moved on to the big delicious. The first bite of this pizza was good but not as impressive as the rangoon. I still enjoyed it though. The thai and polynesian pizzas were brought shortly after. First up was the thai. It had good flavor, but was too spicy for me. The polynesian was almost just as good as the rangoon. The sauce and pineapple really stood out, and made it special. We all left with full and satisfied stomachs. Fong's earns 4 out of five stars. The unique mix of decor, food, and people made a very time. Fong's is definetely worth another visit.
